For the Consumer

Conscious Consumption

Weaving and Dyeing - AID Kapda CalendarThe process of restoration—of our health, ecological balance and the livelihoods of the marginalized—can take place only when we as consumers are empowered to make better choices. Here we share knowledge and information about the things we consume daily—the most vital among them being food; we will also talk about other articles of our daily consumption such as clothing, water, energy and so on.

Sustainable practices and processes such as organic farming, traditional water conservation methods or natural dyeing can help counter the ill-effects of  chemical-based industrial practices which contribute to the depletion of natural resources and to the loss of livelihoods of traditional farmers, rural knowledge workers and craftspeople.

In this section we will continually update consumers with relevant papers, research and resources that provide us with a better perspective on various issues.

The topics have been separately listed on our main menu for easy access.
