Ragi puttu

250 gm ragi flour

50 gm grated coconut

125 gm sugar or jaggery 

2 tbsp ghee

a few tsp water

1 tsp cardamom

2 tbsp cooked green gram (mung) dal

1. Sprinkle a few tsp of water on the ragi flour and sieve through a medium size sieve and then steam cook for about 10 min.

2. Remove the ragi, place in a bowl and break it up with the tips of your fingers.

3. Add the grated coconut, dal, sugar or jaggery and the ghee and mix in well. Pat or roll this mixture into any pleasing shape and serve as a healthy, satisfying and filling sweet or snack! It also makes a wonderful breakfast dish.
