Green gram keerai vadai (snack)

1 cup green gram (whole mung dal)
1 cup finely chopped keerai (any leaf greens)
2 finely chopped onions
3 finely chopped green chillies
Some finely chopped ginger
curry leaves
oil for frying
salt to taste
coriander  leaves  (parsley)
grated coconut

1. Wash and soak green gram for half an hour. Strain the water completely. Grind to a smooth paste. Mix in the other ingredients.

2. Make into vadai shapes (like flattened balls).  Deep fry in hot oil. Garnish with coconut and chopped coriander leaves.

Serve as a delicious fried snack at tea time, or as a starter to a main meal!
